Bed, Bath & Beyond stores in Bradenton, Sarasota are closing with final sales

Bed, Bath & Beyond, a retail chain that once had a strong following, is closing its Bradenton store and more than 300 nationwide, after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in April.

Store closing sales have commenced across all 360 Bed Bath & Beyond and 120 buybuyBABY store locations nationwide, the company said.

This week, the Bradenton store at 825 Cortez Road W., had a storefront poster advertising 10-40% off all merchandise, including home, baby, beauty and wellness products.

In Sarasota County, Bed, Bath and Beyond is closing stores at 111 North Cattlemen Road and at 6567 S. Tamiami Trail.

“This is an opportunity to save on household items or stock up on baby essentials at discounted prices. New merchandise is arriving in stores. Top-selling items from the most sought-after brands will be discounted and will sell out very quickly,” the company said.

Details about the bankruptcy and winding-down process are posted at the top of the company’s website.

“We will accept returns and exchanges for items purchased prior to April 26, 2023, in accordance with our usual policies through close of business on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, local time,” the company said.

All purchases during the store closing sales will be “as is” and “final sale,” the company said.

The liquidation event is being managed by Hilco Merchant Resources, Gordon Brothers, Tiger Capital Group, and B. Riley Retail Solutions.

A number of national retailers have filed for bankruptcy protection in recent years including Tuesday Morning, J.C. Penney, Neiman Marcus, J.Crew, Stage Stores and Steinmart.
