Bed tax grant funds totaling $167,500 distributed among 30 Holmes organizations

MILLERSBURG — The Holmes County commissioners donned their proverbial Santa Claus outfits Monday morning and distributed $167,500 in Bed Tax Grant money to 30 community organizations and groups, ranging from $2,000 to $20,000.

Commissioner Joe Miller said this was the most grant money the commissioners have given out since they began the program, which was designed to promote overnight visits to Holmes County.

"I think we have achieved that pretty well," Miller said.

Ray Eyler added he was glad to be able to include the veterans memorial for Holmes County.

"I'm just glad we're able to do this," Eyler said. "It just goes to show that we put all that back into promoting the community."
