Bedford car and motorcycle show raises funds to support St. Vincent House
The inaugural Cierah's Motorcycle and Car Show was held Saturday in Bedford.
The car portion of the event was in the Bedford Knights of Columbus parking lot, and the motorcycle portion was held in the parking lot of Resurrected Custom Cycles. The event was a fundraiser for the St. Vincent House in Indianapolis.
Cierah Deckard spent part of her young life in a hospital in Indianapolis while her family stayed at the St. Vincent House. During their stay, the St. Vincent house ran out of bottled water. The family bought several cases and delivered it to the House.
Since then, Cierah's family has conducted fundraisers to supply bottled water for the St. Vincent House. The house goes through "about 350 cases a year," said Shyann Chastain, Cierah's mother. This was the first year for the car/motorcycle show, although there have been other fundraising efforts by the family to support the St. Vincent House.
