Nothing says summer is starting quite like the official opening of the Gulf Hill Dairy Ice Cream Bucket. Overlooking Apponagansett Bay, it is a time-honored tradition to stop by and get lunch or dinner at "The Bucket." They have everything from their famous lobster roll ($18) to burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. No meal would be complete without ending it with an ice cream cone, with over 25 flavors starting at $2 you won’t be disappointed. Summer on the bay begins at 77 Gulf Road, Dartmouth.

The three-day festival is here, this weekend the Day of Portugal of New Bedford will be in full swing.  Get ready for a weekend full of traditional Portuguese foods including malasadas; shopping from local small businesses; live performances from Portuguese band; Ranchos Folcloricos (Portuguese cultural dancing); and so much more. The fun begins at 6:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 2; from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 3; and noon to 10:30 p.m. Sunday, June 4 at 81 Tinkham St., New Bedford.

Get your tickets for the 10th annual Wine, Cheese, and Chocolate Festival. It is a joyful celebration featuring your favorite wineries and local food artisans as well as some new faces and exciting surprises. Taste over 45 different wines, while browsing through local artisans sampling a variety of cheeses, chocolates, and more. This 21+ event has three sessions on Saturday, June 17: session 1 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; session 2 from 2:30 to 5 p.m.; and VIP session from 6 to 8:30 p.m. all happening at the  Westport Fairgrounds, 200 Pinehill Rd., Westport.
