Bedford Hills Lions Celebrate 83 Years With An Invitation

BEDFORD, NY — The Lions Club of Bedford Hills is celebrating more than eight decades of helping to build the local community and honoring the legacy of its longtime members by looking to recruit new blood.

Since the club’s chartering in 1939, its members have worked on a variety of issues important to the local community, including diabetes research funding and awareness, vision impairment and blindness and food and clothing insecurity. Proceeds from past fundraising events have gone to local schools, community organizations and student scholarships. To continue the tradition for generations to come, the club is currently seeking community-minded volunteers to join the group.

"We are proud of our club’s 83 years of service to the community," Lions Club of Bedford Hills President Robert Collins said. "The Lions Club members thank everyone who contributes to this important work. You are truly helping Lions make a difference in our community.”

Because of ongoing coronavirus concerns, The Bedford Hills Lions Club currently meets in the evening virtually on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. The club organizes and gathers in person when conducting events and fundraisers.

The Lions Club, both internationally and through local clubs, defines itself as a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.

More information about getting involved with the Lions Club of Bedford Hills can be found at the club's website or by contacting Robert Collins at President@BedfordHillsLions.org.
