A number of New York-area brewers and a bevy of beer lovers are coming together this March 28th at the Brooklyn Brewery to help raise money for disaster relief in Japan.
Sixpoint, Kelso, Heartland, Empire, Lagunitas, Shmaltz, Victory, the NY State Brewers Association, the Good Beer Seal and Beer Sessions Radio are teaming up to provide an evening of entertainment and beer drinking in the Brooklyn Brewery's event space. The event will also include food from Jimmy's No. 43, Meat Hook, and the Waterfront Ale House.
Tickets for the event are $50, with all of the proceeds going to the Kiuchi Brewery (Hitachino) in Japan. On the Jimmy's No. 43 blog, they have posted some of the sorrowful correspondence they have had with Toshiyuki Kiuchi of the Kiuchi Brewery over the past week. In the area around the Kiuchi Brewery alone, Toshiyuki estimated that 10 sake breweries and five beer breweries have been seriously damaged.
