Nov. 8—Join the staff of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine at Frederick Social to hear astonishing tales of surgery, innovation and booze.

And learn about the Civil War's most unlikely surgeon: a rat.

The event will be led by John Lustrea and Kyle Dalton.

Lustrea is the director of education at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. Lustrea earned his master's degree in public history from the University of South Carolina and has previously worked at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park.

Dalton is the membership and development coordinator for the National Museum of Civil War Medicine. He is a graduate of the Catholic University of America with 20 years of experience as a public historian and museum professional.

This event runs about one hour and is pay what you please at the door.
