Beeville's Cylee Lopez voted Sames Caller-Times Athlete of the Week

Beeville girls basketball player Cylee Lopez has been voted the Sames Caller-Times High School Athlete of the Week.

Lopez received 15,557 of the 33,349 votes cast, which was 46.6% of all votes.

Mathis girls basketball player Jackie Garcia was second with 11,985 votes.

Students can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport.

Because of the holidays, the Sames Caller-Times Athlete of the Week will resume the week of Jan. 9.

Nominations are due each Monday by 5 p.m. and can be submitted through email at ctsports@caller.com, by messaging the Caller-Times through its Facebook page, or on Twitter @CallerSports.
