It's beginning to look a lot like craft season. Hillsdale High hosts annual festival

MOHICAN TWP. − About 200 vendors filled the halls, classrooms and gymnasium of Hillsdale High School for the 48th annual Hillsdale Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday.

Folks could get an early start on their Christmas shopping with a variety of wares available for sale, which included jewelry,  wood carvings, skin-care products, clothing, outerwear, Christmas decorations, dolls and doll accessories, and many home-decor items.

Added to the vendor list this year was first-time seller and Vietnam veteran, Larry Salyers, of Ashland. Salyers, who served in the United States Coast Guard for two years and eight years in the U.S. Navy, was selling a variety of knives at the festival. His wife, Sandra said this was his first time selling at a craft show.

The crafts fair also had raffles, live music, food and baked goods for sale. The event was hosted by the Hillsdale junior class, with proceeds funding the prom, according to junior Lance Tucker.
