Belarus police raid apartment in search for protesters

The dramatic clip shows a policeman entering the room with a group of people inside.

The policeman did not leave and rushed to a man draped with Belarus' red-and-white flag, the symbol adopted by the opposition. The policeman is seen beating the man with a baton. A woman tries to shield the man from the policeman.

Women can be heard screaming, pleading for the policeman to stop and leave.

Police detained at least three other men, while several others were sheltering on the upper floors of the building, the witness said.

Police in Belarus detained 523 people at nationwide anti-government protests on Sunday, including 160 in the capital Minsk, the Interior Ministry said in a statement on Monday (October 26).
