Belgium probes use of its weapons by RDK volunteer fighters in Russia raids

Belgium will ask Ukraine for clarification, the official added, according to a report by news agency Reuters.

"Our Ministry of Defense and its intelligence agencies have launched an investigation and are asking for information to determine what exactly happened," the Belgian prime minister said.

“European weapons are supplied to Ukraine on the condition that they will be used on Ukrainian territory to defend that territory. And we have strict controls to make sure that this is the case.”

Earlier, some media reported that fighters of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) and the Freedom of Russia Legion had used tactical vehicles provided to Ukraine by the United States and Poland and carried rifles made in Belgium and the Czech Republic for raids into Russia’s Belgorod Oblast.

On June 1, the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps announced that they were on the Ukrainian-Russian border and planned to move into the territory of the Russian Federation to "liberate the whole of Russia - from Belgorod to Vladivostok."

Several RDK raids in Belgorod Oblast have already been reported.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence said that Russian volunteers used equipment taken from the Russian forces during the raid in Belgorod Oblast.
