Coroner IDs Columbia man who died in Interstate 64 crash

A 58-year-old man died in a crash Friday when his pickup truck collided with a tractor-trailer parked on the shoulder of Interstate 64 in Washington Park, Illinois State Police said in a news release.

Dwayne A. White of Columbia was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr.

White was driving a pickup truck east at 3:37 a.m. at milepost 6 on I-64 when he drove off the right side of the roadway and struck the rear of the tractor-trailer, according to a preliminary investigation by state troopers.

Montarius Tucker, 31, from Eight Mile, Alabama, was lying in the sleeper berth of a 2013 Freightliner truck at the time of the crash and told police he was not injured.

State police did not release any other information about the crash.
