Belmont basketball coach Casey Alexander was named a finalist Monday for the 2023 Skip Prosser Man of the Year award by CollegeInsider.com.

Alexander led Belmont to 21 victories and a third-place finish in the Bruins' inaugural season in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Bruins were eliminated from the conference tournament in the quarterfinals Friday.

Alexander received the award in 2018 and was a finalist in 2021.

Belmont's 98 victories since Alexander's arrival prior to the 2019-20 season rank seventh nationally over that span.

The 1995 Belmont graduate was a candidate for the 2020 Naismith Men's Coach of the Year and was a Hugh Durham National Coach of the Year Award finalist.

The Skip Prosser Man of the Year award honors those who not only achieve success on the basketball court, but also display moral integrity off the floor.

Other finalists include Matt Painter (Purdue), Jon Scheyer (Duke) and Mike Boynton (Oklahoma State).

The recipient will be announced later this month in Houston, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.
