Police in Belmont have found missing 12-year-old Leydi Cardona safe, according to a release from the department.

The Belmont Department also thanked the Gastonia Police and the Charlotte F.B.I. Field Office for helping find Cardona.

Officers are looking for a missing 12-year-old girl last seen talking to an adult male in a gray car at 7:30 a.m. Friday near Greenway Circle.

Leydi Cardona may be wearing ripped blue jeans and a teal long-sleeve shirt.
