Beloit man sentenced for 2020 murder of 18-year-old in South Beloit
A Wisconsin man has been sentenced to nearly 70 years in prison for murdering a man in South Beloit in 2020.
Devonte Hyler, 31, of Beloit, will spend the next 68 years behind bars.
On April 9, 2020, Hyler shot 18-year-old Jwan Lamon, of Janesville, multiple times in a car that was being driven in the 1500 block of Fischer Road and then abandoned the vehicle with the victim’s body inside on a residential street in Beloit.
Hyler was found guilty on the murder charges last summer.
