Beloved family classics part of Belmar's Movies on the Beach this summer

Moms and dads, grab the popcorn because Belmar's Movies on the Beach series starts Wednesday, July 5.

From Disney favorites to heartwarming classics, movies begin at dusk on the 7th Avenue beach.

Feel free to bring blankets and chairs, says John Walsh of Belmar's Tourism/Special Events Department. Various organizations will be offering snacks for purchase, Walsh added, but you can bring your own goodies as well.

Here's a look at the free series, which runs through Aug. 30:

July 5: "Finding Nemo"

The 2003 Pixar release won the Academy Award for Best Animated Film. Features the voices of Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, Willem Dafoe and Geoffrey Rush.

July 12: "Aladdin"

Making over $1 billion worldwide, the 2019 live-action adaptation of the Disney classic animated film stars Will Smith, Mena Massoud and Naomi Scott.

July 19: "Encanto"

"We Don't Talk About Bruno"? Sure we do. The Oscar-winning animated Disney film features the voices of Stephanie Beatriz, María Cecilia Botero and John Leguizamo.

July 26: "The Lego Movie"

The 2014 animated film features the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks and Will Arnett.

Aug. 2: "Mary Poppins"

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! The 1964 Disney musical starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke won five Academy Awards, including Best Song for "Chim Chim Cher-ee."

Aug. 9: "E.T."

Nominated for nine Oscars, this beloved Stephen Spielberg film took home four awards, including Best Original Score (John Williams). Don't forget your Reese's Pieces for this one.

Aug. 16: "Inside Out"

Featuring the voices of Amy Poehler, Richard Kind, Phyllis Smith and Bill Hader, Pixar's 2015 film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Film. And it looks like a sequel is in the works, with a planned release date of June 14, 2024.

Aug. 23: "Puss In Boots: The Last Wish"

The 2022 DreamWorks Animation film is the sequel to the 2011 film and "Shrek" spinoff. It made $484 million, making it the 10th highest-grossing film of the year.

"Aug 30": "Enchanted"

The 2007 live-action/animated film stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel and Susan Sarandon. A sequel, "Disenchanted," was released on Disney+ last year.
