CHILLICOTHE― Paper city's downtown is constantly evolving with new and returning businesses. This September, get ready to experience old favorites with a twist and new ways to get your morning caffeine fix.

R Kitchen on Paint closed its doors in January after operating the business for over five years. Owners Danyelle Tucker and Cody Rutherford are returning to the location at 66 North Paint St. as R Kitchen Deli and Provisions - a deli and market with vendors from around the area. The duo will operate the deli.

The fan-favorite shop opened its doors again over the weekend.

Blondie & Brew-Latte Cafe will open at 36 W Water St. this month. Kelly Bigelow, owner of Rustic Gals, decided to open Blondie to offer healthy, fast food for families.

The cafe will offer gluten-free and keto options like breakfast sandwiches, flatbreads, salads and pizza, in addition to custom lattes and drinks.

"I know a lot of people in our area are having a hard time finding gluten-free fast food," Bigelow said. "We're very excited to be able to offer those options."

The cafe will have a drive-thru and rooftop seating.

High Five Cakes has sold bubble tea in its shop for many years. Now, owners Sarah Myers and Shauna Shanks are opening Rainbow Boba in Waverly and Circleville, along with a traveling boba trailer.

In addition to bubble tea, Rainbow Boba will also sell small pastries like cake pops, cookies, macaroons and more. Boba tea will still be sold at High Five Cakes in Chillicothe.

Myers said she hopes to continue expanding Rainbow Boba.

In-demand new and refurbished sneakers are coming to Chillicothe at Sole Fresh. Owner Tony Nguyen said customers can buy, sell or trade sneakers in the shop.

"The goal was to bring something different, like a sneaker shop, where people don't have to travel out of the city to find the latest Nikes," Nguyen said.

The business will hold its grand opening on Sept. 16 at 22 W Water St.
