Belton man seriously injured after I-29 crash

Sep. 1—A Belton, Missouri, man was sent to Mosaic Life Care after a two-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the accident occurred at about 1 p.m. on southbound Interstate 29 when an unknown vehicle abruptly stopped to take the emergency crossover in front of Kevin Owens, 31, who was driving a 2019 Peterbilt.

Owens traveled off the east side of the road and the vehicle overturned onto its driver's side.

Ronald Sinnock, 70, of Beardstown, Illinois, traveled off the west side of the road and down an embankment to avoid a collision, according to the crash report. He was not injured, according to the report.

Owens was transported to Mosaic Life Care by Buchanan County EMS to be treated for serious injuries.

Both drivers were wearing safety devices, the report said.
