Belville's 45th anniversary garden party
Join the town of Belville as it continues its 45th anniversary celebration. Live music will be provided by Brunswick Big Band. There will be food and drinks by One More Bite food truck, Snowie of the Carolinas and Nothing Bundt Cakes. Garden, herb and vegetables vendors on site: Classic Landscapes, Sweet Nectar's Florist, Angie’s Fresh Produce, Carolina Girl Gardens, I Do! Bamboo, Japanese Maples of Wilmin, also the N.C. Cooperative Extension will be in attendance with master gardeners talking about native plants. A special appearance by balloon artist Mr. Dantastic & the Queen of Hearts (10:30-11:30 a.m.) Free admission. Bring your lawn chairs and dress to impress or come as you are. The garden party will be held 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 23 at Belville Riverwalk, 580 River Road.
The NC Cooperative Extension will be there and will have master gardners there to talk with attendees about native plants and sign people up for classes.

Art gallery features group exhibition, ‘Beach Dreaming’
Sunset River Marketplace, the eclectic art gallery, features “Beach Dreaming,” a group exhibition of summer-themed paintings now through Saturday, Aug. 6. The show includes works by oil painters Connie Winters, Janet Sessoms, Carol Iglesias, Sharon C. Jones, Ruth Cox and Nancy Hughes Miller; acrylic artists Rachel Sunnell, R.L. Thomas, Vicki Neilon, Ortrud Tyler, Linda Karaskevicus and watercolorist William West. Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The gallery is located at 10283 Beach Drive SW, Calabash. Calabash Summer Concert Series
The Embers, featuring Craig Woolard, will be playing beach music, 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 at Calabash Town Park, 868 Persimmon Road. Hot dogs, kettle corns and treats available. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair. Free. 910-579-6747.
Ocean Isle Beach Movie in the Park
Come and enjoy movies under the sky with friends and family this summer as Ocean Isle Beach host Movies in the Park. “Luca,” set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, the original animated feature is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. The movie begins at sunset (8-10 p.m.) Wednesday, July 20 at Town Creek Park, 11 E. Second St. (weather permitting). Food vendor on site. Free admission. Bring a chair or blanket.
Sunset Beach Sound Waves concert series
R&B, soul and dance music by Chocolate Chip & Company, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20 at the Village Park gazebo, 1791 Queen Anne St. Free.
Southport Summer Concert series
Parlay performs classic rock, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 21 at Franklin Square Park, 130 E. West St., downtown Southport. Free. Bring a blanket or chair.
Oak Island Concert Series
Listen to some beach music with The Embers, featuring Craig Woolard, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, July 22 at Middleton Park Amphitheater, 4610 E. Dolphin Drive. Free.
Ocean Isle Beach Summer Concert
Also known as the Peggy Hughes Concert series, Jim Quick and Coastline plays beach music, 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 22 at Town Center Park, 11 E. Second St. Free.
Acoustic duo Moxie & Flo
Female, acoustic duo — Moxie & Flo from Wilmington will be performing 4-7 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at the American Fish Company, 150 Yacht Basin Drive, Southport. The duo covers all the Top 40s tunes from the past 40 years.
Holden Beach Concert Series
Band of Oz will play beach music, 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday, July 24 at the pavilion under the Holden Beach bridge, 131 Jordan Blvd. Refreshments available for purchase. Bring chair or beach towel. Free. 910-842-6488.
