Bemidji Career Academies announces March exploring dates

Feb. 28—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Career Academies, a partnership between the Boy Scouts of America and

Bemidji High School,

recently announced its exploring dates for March.

Working with 20-plus local businesses, the Exploring Program is run by BSA for students ages 14-20 to gain exposure to various career options through interactive, work-site-based learning.

Any student who attends BHS can participate by reaching out to the Career Academy Office at the high school. For students in the area who do not attend BHS but are interested in the program, contact

Here are the upcoming dates for exploring posts in March:

* March 4 from 4 to 5 p.m. students interested in learning about radio and other forms of media can visit Paul Bunyan Broadcasting.

* March 5 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Pinnacle Marketing will cover photography and video topics.

* March 6 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. students interested in education can visit the Boys and Girls Club.

* March 7 from 4 to 5 p.m. Naylor's Heating and Refrigeration will be open for those interested in learning about HVAC/AC/Commercial Refrigeration.

* March 12 from 4 to 5 p.m. students can visit Great River Rescue to learn about working with animals and running a business.

* March 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. Hill's Country Greenhouse will be open for students interested in gardening, horticulture and agriculture.

* March 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. Knife River Materials will offer an understanding of careers in construction for the Construction Exploring Post.

* March 19 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. students can experience a profession in the culinary field at Concordia Language Villages.

* March 19 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Medical Exploring Post meetup at Sanford Hospital where students can learn about oncology.

* March 27 from 4 to 5 p.m. EAPC architects will be available for students interested in design.

* March 28 from 4 to 5 p.m. Bemidji Aviation will be open for students interested in becoming pilots or aviation engineers.

* Each Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., students can learn about a career in law enforcement at the Bemidji Police Department.
