Bemidji Senior Center offers trips to Chanhassen Theater, Mackinac Island

Jan. 10—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji Senior Center is offering trips to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater on Jan. 31 and Mackinac Island from June 22-26.

The center will host an informational meeting on the trip to Mackinac Island at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18.

Tour Director Sharie Linke will give a presentation outlining all the aspects and costs of the summer trip. The tour will not only include two nights on the island at a historic Victorian hotel on Mackinac's Main Street, but will also feature the beautiful sights along the way, including a narrated tour of the Apostle Islands, a release said.

On Wednesday, Jan. 31, the Senior Center will lead a bus trip to see "Jersey Boys" at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater.

"Jersey Boys" tells the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.

"With phenomenal music, memorable characters and great storytelling, 'Jersey Boys' follows the fascinating evolution of four blue-collar kids who became one of the greatest successes in pop-music history," the release said. "Experience electrifying performances of chart-topping hits including 'Sherry,' 'Big Girls Don't Cry,' 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You,' 'Dawn' and 'My Eyes Adored You,' which brought The Four Seasons the highest honor: induction into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame."

The bus will load at 6:15 a.m. at the Cenex South Parking Lot, 120 Convenience Lane SW. Participants will depart at 6:30 a.m. and return by approximately 8:30 p.m.

The cost is $148 for members and $158 for non-members. Lunch, a snack bag for the bus ride home, the play ticket and transportation are included.
