Ben Fogle shares adorable picture of decorating his Christmas tree with his daughter

After Sir David Attenborough's compelling documentary Dynasties came to a dramatic and poignant finale last night, we've been left wondering what to watch next. Luckily it seems Ben Fogle will soon be back on our screens.

The TV presenter and adventurer shared an adorable Instagram photo of his daughter, Iona, sitting on his shoulders to hang an ornament on the highest branches of the large family Christmas tree. He revealed he'd been enjoying some family time before swapping chilly winter days for the blistering heat of Peru's Atacama desert.

Ben captioned the festive photo: "Daddy's can be very useful ladders for reaching all those high branches. Tree decorated. Now I'm off to deepest darkest Peru". He then added the hashtag #newlivesinthewild, referring to his hit Channel Five documentary series New Lives in the Wild, where he meets people who have moved to some of the world's most remote locations.

Many of Ben's 134,000 Instagram followers were also very taken with his colour-coded bookshelves. He shared another shot "by popular request", explaining it had taken him around two hours to organise his collection of travel books this way.

He's since been sharing shots on location in Peru, along with a very important birthday message to his young son Ludo.
