Ben and Nancy Parent, Steve Elci headline Friday Night Folk

Dec. 8—This Friday night, the folks at Friday Night Folk present some other folks playing folk.

Above is what we in the Journalism Industry refer to as "not a crisp, clear lede.*

Yes, it's murky and stupid, but it also makes me laugh, so that's important in these cruel times.

What I mean to convey — after three consecutive one-sentence paragraphs — is that New London's Friday Night Folk music series continues this week with a special show by Nancy and Ben Parent of The Rivergods onstage with Steve Elci of Steve Elci & Friends. As always, the show takes place in New London at the All Souls UU.

The trio will feature a bunch of new songs composed separately and together during the pandemic, and audience members will hear them in all their three-part-harmony'd glory. Also, expect a few tunes from the back catalogs of all concerned. Oh, and masks and proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test within 72 hours are required.

*The "lede" is the journo-phrase for the first sentence of a news story, and it's spelled "lede" instead of "lead" because I said so.
