As the Philadelphia 76ers get back to work on Friday for a big matchup with the Brooklyn Nets that should be a bit of an early litmus test for them.

Before they head over to Wells Fargo Center for the big game, the Sixers convened at their training facility in Camden, NJ for a morning shootaround. That is when Ben Simmons decided to show up and talk to star teammate Joel Embiid and the rest of the team to give them an update.

Simmons spoke with Embiid, coach Doc Rivers, and the entire team and he expressed a desire to come back and play for the team again. However, he is still not mentally ready to do so and he does need more time. This comes after an offseason filled with drama that has gone back and forth between Simmons and the organization.

The Sixers want Simmons back with the team as they know how talented he is and they understand that he gives them their best chance at winning a title, but it appears that the 25-year old will not be back any time soon.
