Bengals announce Joe Burrow underwent successful surgery, expect complete recovery

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow underwent successful reconstructive surgery on his left knee in Los Angeles.

News of Burrow’s operating schedule broke earlier this week. The team reported the results:

“Joe Burrow underwent successful surgery yesterday. The procedure went as planned and he is expected to make a complete recovery. Joe will begin the recovery process and we look forward to his return.”

Burrow’s surgery was handled by Los Angeles Rams team doctor Neal ElAttrache, who currently happens to be helping former Bengals star Andrew Whitworth recover, too. Whitworth gave a rave review before Burrow’s operation.

Based on C.J. Uzomah’s comments about Burrow’s rehab work with trainers after the injury, plus what we know about Burrow the person, he’ll be pushing hard to make it back for the start of next season.
