In the wake of Trey Hendrickson leaving Saturday’s Wild Card win over the Las Vegas Raiders, his absence during the game showed just how effective and how valuable he has been for the Cincinnati Bengals this season.

When Hendrickson was on the field Saturday, the Bengals had a 43.5 percent pressure rate. When he wasn’t, that number plummeted to just 9.1 percent.

That alone speaks to the effectiveness of Hendrickson this season and why the Bengals should be extremely hopeful he can recover quickly from his concussion and be on the field this Saturday when they visit the No. 1 seed Tennessee Titans, a team that allowed 47 sacks during the regular season, ranking seventh-highest in the league.

On top of all that, DT Larry Ogunjobi, third on the team with seven sacks this season, was carted off the field with a foot injury and the team just placed him on injured reserve, so his season is over.

So if Hendrickson can’t go Saturday, the Bengals will have a very tough time getting after QB Ryan Tannehill at a time when the Titans might be the healthiest and strongest they’ve been all season with both A.J. Brown and Julio Jones looking fully back and, of course, RB Derrick Henry will be making his grand return.
