FFL Flash Alert - The FFL crew explains why Joe Mixon will go over or under 79.5 total yards in week 3.
ANDY BEHRENS: Our first over under is going to deal with a running back who you probably drafted in round one or early in round two, and has not met expectations so far. It's Joe Mixon. This is a relatively simple line for a back who you are counting on. 79 and 1/2 total yards, and yet, I'm taking the under in this one. First of all, daunting match-up against Philadelphia defense, allowing only 3.6 yards per carry on the season. They ranked third against the run last season.
Guess my ongoing worry with Mixon is that this year's Bengals offense isn't just, give Mixon the ball 35 times and let's see what happens. No, this time, now they're letting Joe Burrow put the ball in the air 60 times a game, which is great to see, but it's not been great for Mixon. He's not particularly involved as a receiver. Only 35 receptions last year, only five on the season so far. I think he comes up just shy of this total this week. Tank, what say you?
TANK WILLIAMS: I'm going over, because listen, Andy, listen. Joe Mixon, he's playing, he's playing for the Bengals, and now listen, the Philadelphia Eagles defense has actually given the more rush yards than the last two teams that Joe Mixon has faced. And I think that Joe Burrow has showed that teams just can't bunker down on him and try to just slow down the run, because he's been respectable in the pass right now. So I feel like this is a sneaky shootout today in Philly. So Joe Mixon being involved in a run and pass game, goes over that 79 and 1/2, over.
ANDY BEHRENS: Minty, settle this one.
MINTY BETS: Well, I also like the over. I'm a little optimistic. I think that although the Eagles rushing defense, like you said, is only allowing 3.6 yards per carry, I think they're going to score a lot of course in this game, both the Bengals and the Eagles. I think Joe, both Burrell and Mixon, are going to have a good day, and that includes Mixon's participation both in the air and on the ground. So give me over.
