Dave Lapham, the Cincinnati Bengals' longtime radio analyst and former offensive lineman, was the Ruler of the Jungle for the team's season opener at Paycor Stadium against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

From Bengals team reporter Marisa Contipelli via Twitter:

Lapham, a Bengals broadcaster since 1986, also hosts the "In The Trenches" podcast/videocast. Former Bengals offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth, now an analyst for Amazon Prime Video's "Thursday Night Football," is Lapham's guest for his latest episode.

From the Bengals last week via Twitter:

The Bengals started the pregame ritual of the Ruler of the Jungle ceremony about one year ago. Bengals superfan James "JB" Brown was the team's first Ruler of the Jungle.

Elbert "Ickey" Woods, a Bengals running back for four seasons who starred for the team as a rookie during the 1988 season, was the Ruler of the Jungle for Cincinnati's National Football League playoff win in the AFC Wild Card Round against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Willie Anderson and Kay Adams were among Rulers of the Jungle during the regular season.
