Bengals sell out Evan McPherson jerseys after his game-winning kick against Tennessee

Evan McPherson's game-winning kick that sent the Cincinnati Bengals to the AFC Championship spurred fans to rush to purchase his jersey which sold out by Monday.

The Bengals official pro shop announced on Twitter at noon Monday its stock of jerseys for McPherson – who hit all four of his field-goal attempts Saturday, including a 52-yarder as time expired – were no longer available and won't be "anytime soon."

The team announced it has also run out of men's blank jerseys. The surge in jersey sales comes as the Bengals enjoy a playoff run, one that began with the franchise's first playoff win in 31 years. Then on Saturday, the team punched a ticket to the conference championship, its first in 33 years, to end another drought weighing on the fanbase.

"No one was prepared for this," the team wrote on Twitter in reference to the jersey sales. "Sorry, just trying to pass on the real info. Taking it day by day."

While Joe Burrow has naturally sold the most jerseys, followed by receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, local standout defensive end Sam Hubbard has sold the team's fifth-most jerseys.

Bengals merchandise sales were three times as high last year as in 2019, according to Monty Montague, the team's merchandise manager.
