The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team enjoyed a big win over SMU on Sunday, and an NFL star was there to cheer them on.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins was spotted among the 11,068-person crowd at Fifth Third Arena. The 24-year-old appeared on the jumbotron, and many fans stood and clapped for him as he waved.

The Bearcats celebrated their senior players David DeJulius, Kalu Ezikpe and Rob Phinisee during the game. The team defeated the Mustangs 97-74, UC's highest-scoring game of the AAC portion of the season.

Higgins finished his third season with the Bengals this year. There were rumors last month that team was considering trading the star pass catcher, but Duke Tobin, director of personnel, quickly shut them down.

“I’m not in the business of making other teams better. I’m in the business of making the Cincinnati Bengals better," Tobin said. "That’s not on my mind. They want a receiver, go find your own. In my opinion, Tee Higgins is a good piece for the Cincinnati Bengals. So, the trade stuff is a little ridiculous right now.”

Higgins gained over 1,000 receiving yards for the second consecutive season in 2022, finishing with 74 receptions for 1,029 yards and seven touchdown catches.
