The Cincinnati Bengals' official Twitter account joked about kicker Evan McPherson needing strength for a scheduled performance by Nelly at halftime of the Bengals-Ravens Sunday night game in Baltimore.

Bengals assistant head coach and special teams coordinator Darrin Simmons indicated that he wasn't happy that McPherson and veteran long snapper Clark Harris stayed on the bench to watch the Super Bowl 56 halftime show featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar instead of joining the rest of the team in the locker room.

Earlier from the Bengals via Twitter:

McPherson was named last week's AFC Special Teams Player of the Week after making two field goals in the Bengals' win against the Miami Dolphins.

Kid Cudi narrated a pregame hype video for NBC Sports about Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
