- As the August 2nd trade deadline approaches, Royals outfielder Andrew Benintendi has been a headline-grabber, already being connected to the Yankees, Phillies, and Blue Jays. He is an impending free agent and Kansas City has the fourth-worst record of all 30 MLB teams. So a move is basically 100% guaranteed.

And the exciting aspect of this for fantasy managers is that Benintendi is a sure bet to be dealt to a contending team with a better supporting cast that might help unlock a boost in the teammate-dependent scoring categories like RBIs and runs scored. A more hitter-friendly environment than what he's been playing in at Kauffman Stadium in KC should mean more second half home runs as well.

Benintendi has put up only three homers over his first 83 games, 350 plate appearances so far this year. But he's made a ton of quality contact while ranking fifth on the batting average leaderboard with a mark of .317. his .389 on base percentage ranks seventh overall at all points to a strong finish before he reaches the open market at age 28 this November.
