Bensalem police seek 'armed and dangerous' man charged in stabbing outside Wawa

Reporter earlier: Bensalem police are searching for a man accused of stabbing his friend in the neck and stealing his car outside a Wawa in the township late last week, according to authorities.

The department said Stanley Wilson got into an argument with the friend before stabbing him and taking off in his vehicle outside the Wawa at 2250 Lincoln Highway just before 8 p.m. Friday.

Wilson, 68, faces charges of attempted first- and third-degree murder, attempted robbery of a motor vehicle and aggravated assault, as well as misdemeanor offenses of simple assault and possessing an instrument of crime.

As of Tuesday he has not been arrested on the charges.

Wilson's criminal complaint states he was among four people in a Ford Escape driven by the victim that day. Wilson was sitting in the seat behind him, charging documents state. They were coming from somewhere near the Neshaminy Mall when Wilson and the driver began arguing, police said.

Wilson began spitting on the victim, who then pulled into the Wawa and told him to get out, charging documents state. The victim got out of the car and opened the back passenger seat door, and Wilson then lunged at him, according to police.

Wilson stabbed the victim in the neck and hand, then got into the driver's seat of the Ford Escape and fled, authorities allege. The car briefly struck a curb, allowing one of the two remaining men to get out of the vehicle. One of them stayed behind.

The victim stumbled in the Wawa parking lot. Officers found him holding tissues to the right side of his neck to stop the bleeding. He was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Bensalem police are still searching for Wilson as of Tuesday. The department said Wilson should be considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him should not approach him and call 911 immediately. Police released a photo of him Tuesday morning.
