Berea Art Council provides opportunity for older actors

Jun. 22—Older actors looking for a space to take the stage will now have an opportunity at the Berea Arts Council.

The Berea Arts Council is hosting a "Dream Roles" event for actors ages 65 and older. The event will take place on June 22 at 4 p.m.

Directed by Berea College's Deborah Martin, this is an opportunity for actors who may not have access to these roles in other circumstances.

"Due to their age and/or physical abilities, these actors may not normally have access to such performance opportunities. The production reimagines classic theatrical roles through the voices and experiences of this population to provide a wider understanding of the texts' meaning and contemporary relevance," their event announcement via the Berea Arts Council's Instagram said.

Admission to the event is free, but drinks will be available to purchase.
