On Monday, BPD officers were dispersed throughout the city to provide additional security if Urdahl came to work. When he failed to arrive at his workplace, the BPD Detectives Bureau, Special Response Team and additional officers responded to a location in Concord to serve a search warrant and an arrest warrant.

Urdahl was arrested around 1:18 p.m. Monday without further incident, police said. A search at the location resulted in the recovery of a firearm, ammunition and controlled substances.

Urdahl was charged with:

  • Willfully threatening to commit a crime

  • Possession of a firearm by a felon

  • Possession of a controlled substance while armed

  • Several felony enhancements

The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department and the Concord Police Department assisted with the investigation, BPD said.
