Berkeley PD investigates assault in business on Telegraph Avenue

(KRON) – The Berkeley Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred on Thursday.

Berkeley police officers responded to the 2500 block of Telegraph Avenue for a report of assault inside a business around 5:17 p.m. on Feb. 8.

Berkeley PD told KRON4 that a uniformed armed security guard working at the establishment reportedly assaulted two of the business’s employees. According to the police investigation, a gun was mentioned, but it was not used or brandished during this incident.

One of the employees sustained minor injuries to their face from being punched, police said. The suspect fled the store before police arrived.
