—Volunteer Open House, Berks County Heritage Center, 1102 Red Bridge Road, Bern Township, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Learn more about volunteering for the Berks County Park system. We're looking for energetic volunteers to assist us in a variety of roles. Would you be interested in being a tour guide, visitor center attendant, event staff, trail ambassador or park steward? There are opportunities for all ages with no experience necessary.

—The Berks County Genealogical Society is offering Genealogy Classes for Beginners, starting March 2 from 1 to 3 p.m. The four classes run each Saturday through March 23 in the society library on the fourth floor of the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St. Donation of $40 for all classes on first day. —"A Stitch in Time: a History of Quilting" lecture, DeTurk Education Center, Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Road, Exeter Township, 2 p.m. The lecture will be given by Becky Hughes, a local quilting historian who has been quilting for over 20 years. There is no fee to attend. Reservations are not required.

—Bus trip to Philadelphia Flower Show sponsored by the Muhlenberg Township Parks & Recreation Department. Bus departs from the Restaurant Depot, 3045 Fifth St. Highway, at noon and departs Philadelphia at 7 p.m. Cost is $79 per person, which includes transportation and show ticket. —Berks Photographic Society meeting, GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., Suite 326, 7 p.m. Betsy Wilson will present "Capturing Motion." She will explore the world of motion photography through her unique perspective. In addition to being honored as photographer of the year award at the Chester County Camera Club in Pennsylvania, Wilson has received numerous recognitions for her artistic photography including a silver medal awarded at the Wilmington International Exhibition of Photography and a first place award in photography at the Philadelphia Flower Show. She is an active member of the Chester County Camera Club, and has given numerous presentations and led workshops for area camera clubs.

Hamburg Area Historical Society presents a program by Fred Moll on the 2019-20 restoration of the Dreibelbis Station Covered Bridge near Lenhartsville at 7 p.m. in the Hamburg High School LGI Room.

—Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue open house, Golden Gateway facility, 60 Vera Cruz Road, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, 10 a.m.-noon. Meet and greet the golden retrievers and dogs that are available for adoption. Staff is on hand to answer all questions, and food is available for purchase. No admission charge. No photos. —Charter Day open house celebrating Pennsylvania's 343rd birthday, Daniel Boone Homestead, 400 Daniel Boone Road, Exeter Township, noon-4 p.m. Charter Day recognizes the day William Penn received his land grant for Pennsylvania from King Charles II of England in 1681. The homestead will offer an open house and living history event featuring 18th century demonstrations, trades and hands-on activities, including the operation of the unique Bertolet Sawmill. Additional demonstrations include gunsmithing, leatherworking, hearth cooking, spinning, wool dyeing and blacksmithing. The event will also feature craft and specialty food vendors as well as food trucks and concessions. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.

Meyerson is recognized as one of America's finest color photographers and is a highly sought after speaker and workshop instructor. He has traveled throughout the world, visiting all seven continents photographing for advertising, corporate and editorial clients. This will be a paid event for non-members with a $10 donation.
