Berks high school sports honor roll: February 6, 2023

Feb. 5—Boys basketball

Oley Valley senior Keith Neal scored a game-high 19 points in a 66-58 victory over Antietam to help lead the Lynx to their 10th straight win. Neal also scored 13 points in Oley Valley's 70-66 overtime win against Brandywine Heights earlier in the week.

Girls basketball

Berks Catholic senior Caraline Herb scored 14 points in the Saints' 56-36 win over Reading High before scoring 12 points — including the 1,00th point of her career — in a 54-40 victory over Gov. Mifflin.

Boys bowling

Wilson senior Tyler Wentzel rolled a 728 series in a 3-0 win over Daniel Boone. He also had a 612 series in a 3-0 victory over Muhlenberg.

Girls bowling

Gov. Mifflin sophomore Valleri Addis rolled a 640 series in a 3-0 win over Berks Catholic and a 629 series in a 3-0 victory over Antietam.

Boys swimming

Wilson senior Isaiah Eberly broke a Gov. Mifflin pool record and won the 100 fly in 50.99 to help the Bulldogs defeat the Mustangs 121-65 and clinch their ninth straight CPL title. Eberly also swam on the winning 200 medley and 400 free relay teams.

Girls swimming

Wilson senior Morgan Valeriano won the 100 fly in 59.38 and the 100 back in 1:01.16 to help the Bulldogs defeat Gov. Mifflin 123-62 and clinch their fifth straight CPL championship. Valeriano also swam on the winning 200 medley relay team.

Wrestling

Berks Catholic freshman Gunnar Maciejewski had two pins and a win by technical fall to help the Saints win the District 3 Class 2A Team Championships for the first time. He had a pin in 1:31 at 121 pounds in a 58-9 quarterfinal win over Biglerville, then a pin in 45 seconds at 127 pounds in a 37-25 semifinal win over Bishop McDevitt. In the final, he won by technical fall in 4:33 at 127 pounds in the 31-25 victory over West Perry.
