Clayton Supply has picked New London in Stanly County for the investment, which includes the creation of 263 jobs, Gov. Roy Cooper and the N.C. Department of Commerce announced this week. New London is about 7 miles north of Albemarle and 50 miles east of Charlotte.

Clayton Supply is a division of Tennessee-based Clayton Home Building Group, which was acquired by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway in 2003 for $1.7 billion. The company also has off-site manufacturing and site-built construction divisions.
