Berlin Police Clear Anarchist-Occupied Building in City's East

There were clashes between police and protesters in Berlin early on October 9 as police began evictions at an anarchist-run squat in the Friedrichshain neighborhood.

Police said that the building, at 34 Liebigstraße, and commonly referred to as Liebig 34, was “secured” by 11 am, and that 57 people had been removed.

Hundreds of protesters were at the site, local news said, as some 1,500 police from eight federal states moved in to enforce a court order.
