Jazz Jam Cape Cod

Love jazz? In a regular, every third Sunday of the month gig, a jazz band plays from noon to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19 at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main St., South Yarmouth. Come to listen or perform jazz standards with Fred Boyle on piano, Ron Ormsby on bass, and Bart Weisman on drums. No cover charge. A light lunch brunch and drinks are available for purchase. Since 2006, Weisman writes, this has been the only Jazz Jam on Cape Cod. Celebrating all things Celtic

Friends of the South Harwich Meetinghouse, Inc. proudly present our wildly popular Celtic Crossroads Concert including songs, tunes and the spoken word. Performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, and 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19.

The concert takes place in the restored 1836 South Harwich Meetinghouse and is directed by Rose Clancy of the Chatham Fiddle Company. It features John Alden, Max Cohen, Bailey Ford, Jonathan Ford, Sarah Ford Marchio, Thomas Marchio, Christopher Marchio, with Dennis Cunningham, in the role of Shanachie, a traditional Gaelic storyteller, and Irish Step Dancing Master Kevin Doyle, recipient of a National Heritage Fellowship in Irish Dance from the National Endowment for the Arts, the highest honor bestowed on a traditional artist in the U.S. Musicians will perform on fiddles, bass, guitars, Highland bagpipes, Scottish small pipes, banjo, piano and Irish whistle.
