AKIKO FUJITA: LG Electronics announcing this month it is withdrawing from the smartphone market. That withdrawal means there's a big void here now with LG marking about 10% of the market share for smartphones in North America. So where should budget conscious buyers turn to? Let's bring in Yahoo Finance's Dan Howley for this week's Tech Support.

Dan, the market is still dominated by Samsung and Apple, but not everybody can put up 1,000 bucks, right, for a smartphone. So now that LG is out of the market, where do they go?

DAN HOWLEY: Yeah, there's plenty of budget friendly smartphones still on the market. LG obviously biting the bullet and saying, look, we just can't play this game anymore of losing. I mean, they lost billions of dollars in the past six years as a result. So, there are still plenty of good budget friendly phones out there.

And if you're an iPhone user, the choice is clear. You go with the iPhone SE. That bad boy is only going to cost you $399. That's a really good price for an iPhone. It does have the smaller 4.7 inch display. That's basically what the old iPhones used to have. And that makes sense because this is the old iPhone body. You have that touch ID fingerprint sensor there. It is also water-resistant, though. You only get one camera. It's that wide angle lens that you've seen. And it is not 5G capable. So those are kind of the downsides and the plus sides. It still is a great phone.

Beyond that, we have the Google Pixel 4A 5G. That's a mouthful, but it's a great phone. Essentially, this bad boy is also going to be-- this guy's going to be $499, rather. It's got a 6.2 inch OLED screen. So that's a little bit better than what you would get out of the LCD screen on the iPhone, going to be more vibrant.

But it's not water-resistant. So if you drop it in a puddle, you bring it in the pool with you for whatever reason because you like to do that, it's not going to work. It also has a fingerprint reader. And it has two cameras, a wide angle and an ultra wide angle. That's really helpful for taking group shots. And of course, it's 5G capable. So that's really good, especially at $499.

Also, at $499, is Samsung's Galaxy A51 5G. They don't really give the good names to the budget phones, but they're still excellent devices. $499 again, 6.5 inch super AMOLED display. That's one of the best screens out there, so you're really getting a lot of bang for your buck there. It is also water-resistant.

It has an in-screen fingerprint reader, so it's not going to be on the back. You're just going to tap the screen. I've had mixed results from those. Sometimes you kind of forget where to put your finger. Sometimes they don't work as well as you want, but it's still an option. They also have a four-camera setup. That's ridiculous for a smartphone, but hey, it's there for you to use. And it is, of course, 5G capable.

After this, there's a company called One Plus. Not a lot of people know it. It's a brand that's more for enthusiasts, usually. But at $299, the One Plus Nord 5G-- again, kind of a weird name-- is not bad. It's got a 6.49 inch display. Don't know why they don't just say 6.5. But they make an extra point to say it's 6.49. It's not water-resistant, so that's something you're going to run into in the budget phone area. But it does have a fingerprint reader and face unlock. It also has a four-camera setup, which, again, completely unnecessary, but why not? And it is, of course, 5G capable.

And then, finally, a blast from the past as far as names go, Motorola, the Moto G Power. That guy is going to cost you $179, which is a heck of a good price. It's going to give you a 6.4 inch display. It has a water repellent design, so it's not going to be water resistant. But if you spill something on it, it should get by no problem. Just don't take it swimming with you. It does have a fingerprint reader. And it has a three-camera system, instead of a four-camera system. But it is not 5G capable. The big thing about the power, though, is, it's got a massive battery. So it's going to last you all day.

And these are just some of the great smartphones that are out there that are going to be replacing LG. And they are excellent devices on a budget. I can't suggest them highly enough. But again, if you're an iPhone fan, it really is all about that iPhone SE.

ZACK GUZMAN: Yeah, fitting that we end on the Motorola comparison there, Howley, because I think back to the Razr and I think back to the LG Chocolat, the original slider phone that really did it for us all. But RIP, LG. Dan Howley, I appreciate you bringing us--
