If you’re in the market for a vacuum, you might have seen some decent discounts this weekend. But if you were too busy cooking, traveling, or enjoying family to take advantage of them, no need to worry.
The deals on Cyber Monday are just as good or better and you don’t even have to leave your house or office to take advantage of them.
Over the weekend, we found some great deals on models that distinguish themselves in Consumer Reports’ tough vacuum tests—including upright, canister, and stick. (Check out “Best Cyber Monday Deals on Robotic Vacuums” if you’re adding a robot to the mix.)
“While discounts on the newest models may be limited, promotions for existing models from brands such as Shark and Dyson abound,” says Kelly Moomey, who watches the vacuum market for Consumer Reports. “So compare features in relation to price to find the best bargain for the model that best fits your needs.” If you don’t need a lot of extras, you can find an even lower price on a reliable vacuum.
Below are the best deals we found on vacuums right now, listed in alphabetical order by type.
Best Cyber Monday Deals on Upright Vacuums
Dyson Ball Animal 2
The deal: $300 at Amazon, Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, and Target
CR’s test results: Dyson Ball Animal 2
You can find this capable vacuum marked down by $200 at many retailers. The 17-pound Dyson Ball Animal 2 earns a Very Good rating for carpet cleaning. It aces our bare-floor and pet-hair tests, too. Emissions are clean, so this vacuum won’t spew debris back into the room (although emptying the bin can stir up some dust). It comes with attachments that help you get into tight spaces. In our brand reliability survey, Dyson uprights receive Good ratings for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy
The deal: $450 at Best Buy and Home Depot
CR’s test results: Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy Upright
This vacuum usually lists for $700, but now you can get it for hundreds off. Though the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal + Allergy doesn’t earn a CR recommendation, it’s a good choice if your home has bare floors and you have allergies, because it gets top marks on both of those tests. It earns a Very Good rating for cleaning carpet but is only so-so at removing pet hair.
Shark Apex DuoClean Zero-M Powered Lift-Away AZ1002
The deal: $289 at Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond
CR’s test results: Shark Apex DuoClean Zero-M Powered Lift-Away AZ1002
The 17-pound Shark Apex DuoClean Zero-M Powered Lift-Away AZ1002 is bagless and has micro-filtration, as well as a detachable handheld canister and a 30-foot manual-wind cord. This high-end Shark is packed with bells and whistles, yet it underperforms in CR’s most important test: It earns just a Good rating for cleaning carpet, a score that trails many uprights. That said, it cleans bare floors and pet hair especially well, it has exceptional suction power, and its emissions are free of debris. This vacuum usually sells for $400.
Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional NV356E
The deal: $211-$212 at Amazon, Office Max & Office Depot, and Overstock.com
CR’s test results: Shark Navigator Lift-Away Professional NV356E
The Shark Navigator Professional Lift-Away NV356E earns an Excellent rating for cleaning bare floors and a Very Good rating for cleaning carpet. It’s not the best at cleaning up pet hair, so look elsewhere if you share your home with a furry friend or two. This model is bagless and emissions are clean, but like all bagless vacuums, you have to take care not to release debris when you empty the bin. Suction through the hose isn’t very impressive, so this model isn’t ideal if you often use attachments. At its usual price of $250, this vacuum is already moderately priced, but now you can save $40 on top of that. In our member survey, Shark uprights earn a Very Good rating for predicted reliability and an Excellent rating for owner satisfaction.
Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away NV752
The deal: $200 at Walmart, $232 at Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond
We haven’t tested this model, but we expect its performance to be similar to the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away NV650, which we did test. This vacuum is aces at cleaning bare floors and picking up pet hair, earning Excellent ratings on both tests. Cleaning carpet, however, is a bit of a challenge for this upright, so try another model if you have lots of floor coverings. This model usually lists for $350.
Best Cyber Monday Deals on Canister Vacuums
Kenmore 81614
The deal: $350 at Amazon and $370 Walmart
CR’s test results: Kenmore 81614
If you have bare floors and a dog, the Kenmore 81614 is the vacuum for you; it aces our tests for both bare floors and pet hair. Like most canisters, it doesn’t do quite as well on carpet as an upright. Emissions are free of debris, but like many Kenmore canisters, it’s on the noisy side. Still, this Kenmore’s list price of $400, combined with top performance in our tests, makes it a CR Best Buy. On sale, it’s an even better deal. In our reliability survey, our members give Kenmore canister vacuums average marks for both predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly CrossOver 21814
The deal: $459 at Amazon
CR’s test results: Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly CrossOver 21814
This model is top-notch at cleaning bare floors and earns a Very Good rating for cleaning carpet. Suction through the hose is superb, and emissions are clean. At 26 pounds, however, it’s among the heaviest canisters in CR’s tests, which contributes to its so-so score for handling and undermines a key advantage of canisters. Of all the Kenmore canisters in our tests, this one rates the lowest for removing pet hair, though it still earns a Very Good rating in that test. Let’s just say we’re splitting hairs on that one. It usually lists at $660.
Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly UltraPlush 81714
The deal: $425 at Amazon
CR’s test results: Kenmore Elite Pet Friendly UltraPlush 81714
This vacuum is indeed friendly to pet owners, earning an Excellent rating in our test for removing pet hair. It’s also a champ at cleaning bare floors and a solid performer at cleaning carpet, making it a smart choice if you have a combination of flooring. It makes the grade in our emissions test, but in terms of noise, there are quieter choices. This model typically costs $530, which is more than the Kenmore 81614, but for that added cost, you get stronger airflow through the hose, making this the better choice if you use attachments often.
Miele Blizzard Cx1 Cat & Dog
The deal: $599 at Wayfair
CR’s test results: Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog
Miele vacuums tend to be expensive, and this one usually lists for $900. Still, this bagless canister is one of the best vacuums you can buy, and at $300 less, it’s a very good deal. It earns an Excellent rating on our bare floor and pet hair tests, though it could be better at cleaning carpet. This vacuum also performs well in our emissions tests and doesn’t release debris back into the air of the room you just cleaned. Miele vacuums have a devoted following and in our member survey earn top scores for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
Best Cyber Monday Deals on Stick Vacuums
Dyson V8 Animal
The deal: $300 at Lowe’s and Best Buy
We haven’t tested the Dyson V8 Animal, but it’s similar to the Dyson V8 Absolute, which we have tested. The V8 Absolute aces all our main cleaning tests—carpet, bare floors, and pet hair—and operates quietly and cleanly. It also zooms along the edges of a room, leaving no debris behind. So at $100 off the usual price, you’re getting a good deal with the Animal. While our members who own Dyson stick vacuums express high satisfaction, the brand earns our lowest rating for predicted reliability.
Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal
The deal: $400 at Best Buy
CR’s test results: Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal
With a list price of $600, the Dyson Cyclone V10 Animal is a pricey stick vacuum, but you’re saving $200 during this holiday sale. We tested the similar Dyson Cyclone V10 Absolute, and it earns an Excellent rating on all three of our major cleaning tests for carpet, bare floors, and pet hair. So if you have a mixture of flooring and pets that shed, you’ve hit the trifecta with this vacuum. One caveat: Dyson stick vacuums take a hit in CR’s reliability survey, earning our lowest rating for predicted reliability.
Dyson Cyclone V10 Motorhead
The deal: $350 at Best Buy and Target
CR’s test results: Dyson Cyclone V10 Motorhead
The Dyson Cyclone V10 Motorhead is superb on carpets and bare floors, and at getting rid of pet hair. It makes a bit of a racket as you work, but you’ll appreciate the clean emissions. Like the other Dyson models, this one’s Overall Score takes a hit because of the brand’s Poor reliability ratings. You’re saving $200 off the usual price.
Dyson V11 Animal
The deal: $450 at Amazon, Macy’s, Walmart, Best Buy, and Home Depot
CR’s test results: Dyson V11 Animal
The newest Dyson on the market, the Dyson V11 Torque Drive packs more run time than the brand’s earlier generations of stick vacuums. It earns our top rating for cleaning carpet, floors, edges, and pet hair, as well as for clean emissions. And it’s one of the quieter models in our ratings, earning an Excellent rating for noise—an improvement over the earlier V10. One note: CR removed Dyson from its list of recommended stick vacuums earlier this year after its poor showing in our brand reliability survey. The Dyson V11 wasn’t available at the time of the most recent survey. This model usually lists for $600.
LG CordZero A9 A906SM
The deal: $599 on Amazon
CR’s test results: LG CordZero A9
The cordless lightweight but pricey LG CordZero A9 gets top marks on all CR performance tests, including an Excellent rating for bare floors. And it operates very quietly. It comes with two brushes, one soft roller for hard surfaces and a brush for carpets. The LG is equipped with two batteries, so you can charge one while vacuuming with the other. The charging stand is self-standing, so there’s no need to hang it on a wall. The washable filters are easy to change and clean. At over $180 off, it’s still expensive but worth a look.
Shark Ion F80 Cord-Free MultiFlex IF281
The deal: $259 at Amazon
CR’s test results: Shark Ion F80 Cord-Free MultiFlex IF281
This 8.8-pound Shark tackles pet hair and bare floors with ease but struggles on carpet, so it might not be the best option if you have a lot of rugs in your home. It comes with two batteries, so technically you’re getting twice the cleaning time—in our tests it ran for 24 minutes on one battery charge. This model usually lists for $450.
Shark Rocket Pet Pro IZ162H
The deal: $250 at Amazon
CR’s test results: Shark Rocket Pet Pro IZ162H
There’s a lot to recommend about this Shark, including its superb performance at cleaning carpet and bare floors, and vanquishing pet hair. It operates quietly, and emissions are clean, so you don’t have to backtrack over areas you already cleaned. But we had to ding this model for its poor performance cleaning along the edges of a room; it earns only a Fair rating on that test. This model usually lists for $300.
Tineco Pure One S12
The deal: $440 at Amazon
CR’s test results: An all-around excellent performer, the high-end Tineco Pure One S12 is feature-filled and its cleaning ability is impressive, earning top marks on all our cleaning tests, including an Excellent score for pet hair. An LED panel on the top of the handle displays the power level and battery time remaining, and lets you know if you have a clog or tangle. You can adjust the power settings by swiping up or down on the screen, and a dust sensor detects the amount of debris and adapts the suction power accordingly. It runs very quietly, and emissions are clean. The Tineco usually lists for $600.
