You can find big savings on products that perform well in our labs and your kitchen

By Consumer Reports

This October, as leaves fall, so do prices of some of our favorite kitchen gadgets. Amazon’s Prime Early Access Sale is over, but there are still great deals on a slew of countertop appliances.

Right now, there are worthwhile discounts on coffee makers, blenders, air fryers, and more, ranging from budget buys under $50 to deep discounts on high-end appliances.

But the deals we highlight here aren’t solely based on price. They’ve been tested in our labs to ensure you’re saving money and getting a high-quality product that’ll serve you well long-term. Below you’ll find the best deals on highly rated small kitchen appliances you can find right now.

Keep in mind that if you don’t see something you want, there are bound to be more options in the coming weeks and months, thanks to Black Friday and the holiday shopping season. And don’t miss out on Walmart’s Rollbacks and More sale, which is in its final day.

Coffee Makers

Braun MultiServe KF9150BK

The Braun MultiServe KF9150BK is Braun’s take on all-in-one brewers like the Ninja Coffee Bar, which have become a popular option for replicating coffeehouse-style drinks at home. It offers seven brew sizes, four brew modes (including an over-ice mode), a glass carafe, a removable water reservoir, a water filter, auto-shutoff, and a cleaning indicator. It offers decent brew performance in our tests, and its carafe is very easy to hold and pour.

Why it’s a good deal: All-in-one brewers can be pricey, and this model is almost 50 percent off its list price.

Keurig K-Elite K90

The Keurig K-Elite K90 is the best Keurig-branded pod brewer in our ratings. Its first-cup brew speed is a tad slow, but this Keurig makes up for it with great temperature and size consistency (meaning you get the same amount of coffee in every brewed cup). It packs plenty of features, too, including programming, auto-shutoff, an iced-coffee brewing mode, a removable reservoir, and a height-adjustable drip tray.

Why it’s a good deal: It’s on sale for one of the lowest prices we’ve seen at Amazon, making it one of the better coffee-maker deals we’ve found.

KitchenAid KCM1208DG

If you love the look of KitchenAid stand mixers, you might want to consider this KitchenAid KCM1208DG coffee maker. It features the iconic wraparound metal band from the stand mixers and offers the performance to match. Its many features include a permanent filter, a removable water reservoir, a cleaning indicator, auto-shutoff, brew-strength control, and programming.

Why it’s a good deal: This brewer beats out machines that cost twice as much, and it’s currently $10 off its list price.

Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew BVMC-PSTX91

For a brewer with a thermal carafe, consider this deal on the Mr. Coffee Optimal Brew BVMC-PSTX91. Our tests show thermal carafes aren’t as easy to hold and pour as glass carafes, but this machine still performs decently for handling. It also offers great brew performance and is quite easy to clean and use.

Why it’s a good deal: It’s $20 off its usual list price.

Nespresso VertuoPlus

The Nespresso VertuoPlus offers a superb brewing range as well as solid first-cup speed and temperature consistency. In terms of features, this machine comes equipped with a removable water reservoir, a height-adjustable drip tray, and an auto-shutoff function. And Nespresso pod coffee makers earn top ratings for owner satisfaction and reliability in our member surveys. This machine uses Nespresso’s VertuoLine pods, not the OriginalLine other models use, so make sure you choose the correct pods.

Why it’s a good deal: Nespresso machines don’t go on sale often, and while we’ve seen bigger discounts for major sales, it’s always nice to save a little if you need a new coffee maker now.

Air Fryers

NuWave 6 Quart 37001

The NuWave 37001 air fryer boasts a measured capacity of 5.8 quarts. Our experts found its electronic controls with preprogrammed settings to be among the easiest to see and use. And the inside and outside of the appliance are a cinch to clean. One downside is that this highly rated air fryer is on the noisy side, so you’ll hear it running.

Why it’s a good deal: We often see this model on sale for about $86, which is already a nice discount. This is the lowest price we’ve seen in a long time.

Dash Digital Tasti-Crisp Air Fryer 2.6 Quart

The Dash Digital Tasti-Crisp is small but mighty. At a measured capacity of 1.9 quarts and a footprint of less than a square foot, this 6-pound model is one of the most compact air fryers in our ratings. Still, it ranks among the best, earning solid scores for controls and cleaning, and acing our noise test. It shares the honor of being the quietest air fryer in our ratings, along with its analog counterpart, the Dash Express Tasti-Crisp, which is also on sale for more than $20 off for the Prime Early Access Sale. It has a 1-year warranty, which is typical for air fryers.

Why it’s a good deal: We haven’t seen this air fryer go on sale until now.

GoWise USA GW22731

A CR Best Buy, the GoWise GW22731 air fryer has a measured capacity of 4.9 quarts. Its touch buttons and programmed settings are among the easiest to see and use. And this is one of the quietest air fryers we’ve tested. But the exterior’s crevices and the basket’s nooks and crannies take some effort to clean.

Why it’s a good deal: This model is already a good price, but a discount on top of that makes it even more appealing.

Oster DiamondForce Nonstick XL 5 Quart Digital Air Fryer

The Oster DiamondForce Nonstick XL 5 Quart Digital Air Fryer’s digital touchscreen is easy to read and its programmed settings are easy to use, earning it a favorable score in our controls test. This model also doesn’t make too much noise, and cleaning the inside and outside doesn’t take a lot of elbow grease. Despite the air fryer’s name, the basket has a measured capacity of 3.6 quarts. Like other models we’ve tested, this one comes with a 1-year warranty.

Why it’s a good deal: At only $10 more than the best price we’ve seen, it may be worth it if you need it right away.

Blenders

Calphalon Auto-Speed BLCLMB1

While this model isn’t among our top-rated, Calphalon is one of the most reliable blenders in our tests. The 1,100-watt Calphalon Auto-Speed blender comes in dark stainless steel with a 68-ounce BPA-free Tritan jar plus a 25-ounce smoothie cup you can take on the road. It weighs 8 pounds and has a pulse option and a removable blade.

Why it’s a good deal: At $50 off on Amazon, this is a pretty solid discount, but beware — it may get cheaper for the holidays.

Ninja BL770

Consider this a two-for-one deal. This Ninja blender-food-chopper attachment combo might be better at blending margaritas than grating cheese, but you can mix dough and crush ice as well with this workhorse. It has three speeds and touch-button controls, and comes with an 8-cup food processor bowl, a 64-ounce blender pitcher, a dough blade, and one or two 16-ounce personal blender attachments.

Why it’s a good deal: Blenders can cost more than $700 and food choppers more than $100. With this versatile kitchen appliance, you get both appliances with attachments—at $40 off. It’s not as great at the $70 off Prime Day discount, but if you’re in a pinch, it’s worth it.

Vitamix Ascent Series A3500

Combining great performance with innovative technology, this 8-cup full-sized Vitamix blender is a great option for breakfast smoothies, hot pumpkin soups, dips and spreads, even frozen desserts. With the programmable timer, you can set the desired time and it will turn off automatically. The durable 1,440-watt blender comes in stainless steel, with a digital display, 15 speeds, and wireless connectivity, allowing you to download new programs from its app. Also included: a tamper and a custom recipe book. It’s on sale in graphite as well.

Why it’s a good deal: One: It’s a Vitamix, the most coveted and reliable blender brand. Two: It’s a smart blender that does much of the work for you. Three: It’s a Vitamix on sale, so there’s no better time to go for it.

Food Processors and Choppers

Hamilton Beach 70730

If you grate cheese for pizza, shred potatoes for hash browns, or dice veggies for salads, you’ll like the 450-watt Hamilton Beach 70730 Food Processor and Vegetable Chopper. It has two speeds and a 10-cup capacity, and it’s dishwasher-safe. It also comes with reversible blades, a bowl scraper, cord storage, and a 1-year motor warranty. Our tests find that it can be a little noisy, however.

Why it’s a good deal: This model typically sells for $65, but Walmart has a decent discount.

KitchenAid KFP1318BM

This 500-watt processor slices, dices, chops, and shreds all those pizza party ingredients (cheese, mushrooms, onions) and purées all those other recipe staples like carrots, peas, beans, and squash. It features lever controls, two speeds, and a 13-cup capacity. This model has a silver base and comes with a separate shredding blade and an adjustable slicing blade. It’s dishwasher-safe and has a 1-year warranty.

Why it’s a good deal: Save $20 on this food processor and you can splurge on tasty ingredients.

NutriChef NCFP8 Multipurpose 12 Cup Multifunction

With variable speeds, dial controls, and a reversible shredding and slicing disc, the NutriChef NCFP8 food processor is not one to miss. It is one of the best options under $100, especially at this discount. Although the model receives a subpar score for grating in Consumer Reports’ tests, it still manages to score highly for overall performance. Included in the set, you’ll find a dough blade plus whipping and juicing attachments. This food processor has been about $10 off for the past couple of weeks, but we recently saw it drop to almost 50 percent off, so that price could return.

Why it’s a good deal: It is one of the best options under $100, especially at this discount.

Toasters and Toaster Ovens

Dash Clear View DVTS501GY

The Dash Clear View toaster’s clever see-through side panel makes it easy to surveil your slices, making charred toast a thing of the past. And you won’t have to wait too long for it to pop up—this model does very well in our toasting-time test. One downside: It gets only middling marks in our cleaning test, so you may have to put in a little extra effort to get crumbs out of its nooks and crannies.

Why it’s a good deal: This is almost as low as the lowest price we’ve seen all year.

Breville Smart Oven BOV800XL

With a temperature range of 120° F to 450° F, the 1,800-watt Breville Smart Oven BOV800XL does a nice job baking food, reheating leftovers, and turning out a batch of even, medium-brown toast. It’s also a cinch to operate and easy to clean. Plus, the brand received high reliability and owner satisfaction ratings in CR’s member surveys. One minor drawback, though: Our testers found that this model isn’t as good at toasting a single slice of bread as the other two top-rated toaster ovens from Breville.

Why it’s a good deal: This discount is 40 percent off the original price.

Emeril Power AirFryer 360

There’s quite a lot going for this 1,500-watt Emeril Power Toaster Oven. It’s a cinch to operate, and we’ve found that it’s particularly good at making toast and baking cookies. If you’re looking to save counter space, this model doubles as an air fryer, too, and its 0.5-cubic-foot interior has the capability to turn out a 4- to 6-pound rotisserie chicken. The best part? It’s almost half off.

Why it’s a good deal: This is just $2 more than the sale price for Prime Day.

Oster Extra Large Digital Countertop TSSTTVDGXL

We’ve evaluated a similar Oster toaster oven, and it wasn’t a standout in our tests. But it does have a few areas where it excels. For instance, it’s expected to be a cinch to use, and it should turn out a pretty nice char on your toast. It reheats and bakes well, too. However, don’t expect it to be easy to clean. In CR member surveys, respondents rated Oster toaster ovens as pretty reliable, but customers weren’t always happy overall—Oster’s toaster ovens landed only average owner-satisfaction ratings. It’s on sale during the Prime Early Access Sale for $40 off.

Why it’s a good deal: This discount is more than 10 percent off the usual Amazon price.

Swiss Diamond Reinforced #6010

This aluminum 10-piece Swiss Diamond Reinforced nonstick cookware set is truly impressive in our tests when it comes to cooking evenness and nonstick food release—a cooked egg slid easily off this pain in our tests with no assistance. It’s also super durable, with a sturdy handle, and is dishwasher-safe. The pots and pans take a bit more time to heat up than other sets in our ratings, however.

Why it’s a good deal: We recently saw this set for $575, making this price quite a score.

Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron Baking Pan

The Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron Baking Pan is the smallest of all the sheet pans in our tests, but at almost 8.5 pounds, it weighs the most—by far. In fact, it’s difficult to remove it from the oven with just one hand. On the plus side, it doesn’t warp, and cleanup is easier than it is for many other uncoated pans.

Why it’s a good deal: This cast-iron pan usually sells for closer to $60, but a discount of more than 30 percent makes it worth considering.

Cuisinart CGG-306

This compact and portable two-burner Cuisinart portable gas grill is a strong performer that’s quick to heat. It’s also an exceptionally good price on a nicely finished stainless grill. The four folding legs make it easy to transport and unpack at a beach, tailgate, or campsite. One thing to note: The grill can be used only with larger, 20-pound propane tanks, not the small 1-pound cylinders that some other portable grills can take. So while the grill is portable, you’ll also need to take a full-sized tank of propane wherever you’re headed.

Why it’s a good deal: It’s $30 more than Amazon Prime Early Access price, but the sub-$200 sale price makes this a great value if you want to step up your tailgating game.

Instant Milk Frother

When you think of the brand Instant Pot, its line of multi-cookers usually comes to mind, but the company has branched out into coffee makers and frothers. Its affordable Instant Milk Frother was one of the best models in our at-home review, offering performance almost on a par with the Nespresso Aeroccino4 milk frother, which costs more than twice as much. The only downside is that the Instant Milk Frother isn’t dishwasher-safe, because its controls are built into the side of the carafe. Cleaning is still a breeze, though—you just need to hand-wash it with a wet cloth.

Why it’s a good deal: It’s on sale for about 30 percent off its list price.

Müeller V-Pro 5-Blade Mandoline

We tried out 11 mandoline slicers at home, and this one by Müeller was the most “extra,” and by that we mean it had the largest variety of attachments. This mandoline can make thick cuts, beautiful thin slices, and fun waffle cuts. The julienne blades are easy to use, too.

Why it’s a good deal: It’s a versatile slicer at a fraction of the price. You can snag it for 50 percent (white) or more (green) off the Amazon list price.
