Halloween season isn’t quite complete without a night filled with binging the creepiest, scariest and overall most festive movies. If you’re in the mood for a movie marathon that is equal parts silly as it is spooky, look no further than these best Disney Halloween movies.
The great thing about Disney is that they make movies for everyone. You can count on Disney to come through with family-friendly films that are as enjoyable for small children as they are for teens and adults. And you can also depend on the company to deliver the best scary movies for kids that are just the right amount of eerie without giving them nightmares. Even if you’re more into comedy, so many of the flicks we’ve listed here have just a good amount of humor to take your mind off of the other more sinister aspects of the plot.
We have animated cartoons like The Nightmare Before Christmas, scary films from the 80s, like The Bride of Boogedy, as well as Disney Channel classics like The Scream Team and the Halloweentown series. A lot of these movies are also easy to stream and available right on Disney+.
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S (2018)
This kid-friendly zombie movie focuses on what happens when zombies integrate a human highschool. Zombie Zed and cheerleader Allison's budding friendship may help them save their school.
Werewolf By Night (2022)

Growing Fangs (2021)
This is more of a short film, but it still passes for spooky vibes. Mexican-American teen Val Garcia navigates keeping her half vampire/ half human identities from being exposed.
Can of Worms (1999)
Mike Pilsbury is forced to save the world after his plea for imaginary aliens to come to Earth to take him away actually ends up happening.
Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
The sequel to everyone's favorite Halloween movie is finally on Disney+. The Sanderson Sisters are back 29 years after someone lit the Black Flame Candle and are once again wreaking havoc on Salem.
The Scariest Story Ever: A Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular (2017)
In this short, Mickey's nephews challenge him to tell a scary story on Halloween night. The story he comes up with ends up being more terrifying than they expect.
Disenchanted (2022)
If you're in the mood for a musical comedy, this sequel to Enchanted will do the trick. After 15 years of Giselle living happily ever after in New York City, she and her family move to the suburbs for a change of scenery. What she didn't expect is that suburbia has it's own rules. Giselle then turns to the magic of Andalasia to make her life more like a fairytale but the spell has unintended consequences.
LEGO Star Wars Terrifying Tales (2021)
Travel to the dark side of the galaxy in this special holiday film that follows the events of The Rise of Skywalker. Poe, BB-8, Graballa and Dean must find a way back to their friends after they allow Darth Vader's servant Vaneé to lure them deep into his castle.
Descendants (2015)
The children of Disney's most iconic villains are given a shot at redemption. The question is: will they turn from their wicked ways or seek to help their parents regain power?
Lonesome Ghosts (1937)
In another short pick, a few bored ghosts decide to make a house call to visit the "Ajax Ghost Exterminators," Goofy, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. The group ends up being scared silly by their various pranks.
Escape To Witch Mountain (1975)
Two young orphans are lured to the home of an evil millionaire who seeks to exploit their clairvoyant powers. As they are trying to escape they encounter a magical force that takes them on an unexpected journey.
The Skeleton Dance (1929)
A quartet of skeletons come together and dance to the music of Edvard Grieg. Throughout their short performance, you will see plenty of gags and even some animals get in on the fun.
Frankenweenie (2012)
A young boy attempts to bring his dog, Sparky, back to life after he is hit by a car. His success however, leads to unintended consequences for his small town.
Muppets Haunted Mansion (2021)

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
While there continues to be a robust debate over whether this film is technically a Christmas or Halloween movie, we say it's great to watch any time of year. Pumpkin King Jack Skellington is bored of the same old scary features of Halloween Town, so he decides to explore the enchanting world of Christmas Town. And when he does, he is amazed at what he learns.
Coco (2017)
A story of a young boy, Miguel, who dreams of becoming a musician like his favorite idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Miguel wants to prove his musical talent and finds himself in the Land of the Dead, meeting a trickster named Hector. Miguel and Hector embark on a journey to unlock the true story behind Miguel's family name. Although the Day of the Dead holiday doesn't have anything to do with Halloween, it's a fun movie to watch the night before the celebrations on Nov. 1.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010)
After showing an interest in magic, a young man is taken under the wing of a powerful sorcerer. What ensues is a journey he'll never forget.
Bride of Boogedy (1987)
Boogedy is back in this sequel to Mr. Boogedy (which you can also stream). This time, the 300-year-old ghost is released by the Davis family's rival and he takes Mrs. Davis away from her family!
The Adventures of Ichabod And Mr. Toad (1949)
This animated film tells two stories based loosely on the fairy tales The Wind in the Willows and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Most say the film is on the funnier side, but there are definitely moments of creep thanks to the horseman.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971)
With similar animation and live action combination as the classic Mary Poppins, this film has music, magic and dance numbers. A witch-in-training enlists the help of three children to defend Great Britain in World War II.
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
A scientists crafts a human-like man, but dies before he is able to complete him. Edward (Johnny Depp) then roams around as an outcast from society until a local Avon lady welcomes him into her home.
The Haunted Mansion (2003)
When real estate agent Jim Evers (Eddie Murphy) and his family decide to take a vacation, they wind up stopping at a super-creepy mansion. Tasked with trying to sell the spooky residence, Jim and his family soon discover that it's haunted by Master Gracey (Nathaniel Parker) and that escaping from the haunted grounds is no easy feat.
Cruella (2021)
This is a story of a young gifter (Emma Stone) who wants to make a name for herself in the fashion world, but when she befriends a fashion legend, she transforms into the raucous, revenge-bent alter-ego Cruella de Vil. The details around the life of the notorious and fashionable villain are amazing!
Upside Down Magic (2020)
When she gets into the Sage Academy for Magical Studies, teenage Nory is thrilled — until she realizes her not-quite-perfect magic skills have landed her at UDM, a.k.a. a class for those with "upside down magic."
Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie (2005)
Who doesn't love Winnie The Pooh? A perfect halloween flick for the little one because they can join Pooh and his pals on a spooky adventure in the Hundred Acre Woods.
Into The Woods (2014)
A witch (Meryl Streep) makes a childless baker and his wife (James Corden and Emily Blunt) go on a three-day adventure to get magical items from classic fairy tales like Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack & the Beanstalk. Needless to say, things don't go as planned.
Under Wraps (2021)
You can watch the original 1997 version on Amazon, but last year Disney+ released a new remake of Under Wraps. Similar to the plotline of the OG Disney Channel Original Movie, a trio of friends accidentally revive a mummy they find in a neighbor's basement. Will they return him to his resting place before midnight on Halloween? After you find out, be sure to queue up the brand-new sequel, Under Wraps 2.
Toy Story of Terror! (2014)
Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the Toy Story gang take a road trip, which takes an unexpected turn when they get a flat tire and have to spend a night at a “haunted” roadside motel. When one toy goes missing, everyone finds themselves in a series of mysterious events.
The Black Cauldron (1985)
This 1985 film is an oldie, but a goodie! A tale of a young boy in the land of Prydain that has the chance to fulfill his dreams to challenge an evil king so he can become a heroic knight.
Girl vs. Monster (2012)
A tween (Olivia Holt) discovers that her parents are monster hunters, but when she accidentally releases a monster named Deimata, she must stop it before the monster hunts her parents and possesses her soul.
Monsters, Inc. (2001)
James P. Sullivan and his best friend, Mike Wazowski, are the top scary team at Monsters, Inc. Things get out of hand when "Sulley" lets a human girl into Monstropolis where she begins to turn things upside down for the two monsters.
Monsters University (2013)
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan "Sulley" are back at it again, but we get to learn how they met at Monsters University. Mike has dreams of becoming a scarer, but during his first semester at MU, his plans are derailed when he crosses paths with a natural-born hotshot, "Sulley" and has to compete in the elite Scare program.
James and The Giant Peach (1996)
A young orphaned boy named James is forced to live with cruel aunts and starts to befriend magical insects who live in a giant peach. He then embarks on a New York City journey.
Now You See It... (2005)
A nerd producer (Aly Michalka) produces a TV show and wants to feature the world's greatest kid magician (Johnny Pacar). However, she discovers and accidentally reveals the magician's real magic tricks.
Invisible Sister (2015)
A science project gone wrong causes a student's popular sister Molly (Paris Berelc) to become invisible. If they don’t find an antidote in time, she'll be stuck forever.
Maleficent (2014)
Based on the evil character in Sleeping Beauty, Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) takes center stage as the protector of a forest kingdom. After she curses an infant princess, she discovers that the girl may be the only one who can restore her land. The result is a complicated relationship that will make you think twice about one of Disney's most iconic villains.
Halloweentown (1998)
Marnie, Sophie, and Dylan (Kimberly J. Brown, Emily Roeske, and Joey Zimmerman) are shocked to learn that their mom (Judith Hoag) is a magical witch. When Marnie discovers that she has magical powers, she sneaks out of her house and follows her grandmother (Debbie Reynolds) to a mystical place called Halloweentown.

Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge (2001)
This Halloweentown sequel follows the Cromwell family as they split their time between Halloweentown and the real world. When Kalabar (Daniel Kountz) steals the magic spell book and threatens to destroy Halloweentown, it's up to the family to get the book back before things are ruined forever.
Halloweentown High (2004)
The third movie in the franchise follows Marnie as she yearns to bring the real world and her Halloweentown friends together. But a few twists and turns later, Marnie and her family's magical powers are suddenly under siege.

The final movie in the franchise shows what happens when Marnie (now played by actress Sara Paxton) and her brother Dylan (Joey Zimmerman) attend Witch University and adjust to the college life.
Don’t Look Under the Bed (1999)
We're labeling this one the scariest Disney Halloween movie ever. Frances (Erin Chambers) doesn't really believe in the supernatural ... that is, until she learns about the mischief the Bogeyman (Steve Valentine) has been raising all over town.
Phantom of the Megaplex (2000)
Pete Riley (Taylor Handley) works at a movie theater and hears murmurs about a phantom haunting the grounds. He brushes off the hearsay initially, but when things go horribly wrong the night of a big premiere, he can't help but wonder if what people said was true all along ...
Twitches (2005)
If you loved the classic ‘90s sitcom Sister, Sister, then you’ll love Twitches. In a lot of ways, the storyline is basically the same thing ... but with magic. In this film, Alex and Camryn (Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Tamera Mowry-Housley) reunite and find out they’re witches who must save the magical kingdom where they were born.
Twitches Too (2007)
The sisters are at it again in this sequel. This time around though, Alex and Camryn are sent on a magical journey when they discover that their biological father may still be alive in a place called The Shadowlands. The question is, will they be able to save him in time?
Mickey's House of Villains (2002)
If you’re into watching classic cartoon movies, you can never go wrong watching this Mickey Mouse-centric film. Though it's not *technically* a Halloween movie, the cast of villains you love to root against — Ursula, Jafar, Cruella de Vil, among others — are still as creepy and scary as ever while trying to take over the House of Mouse.
Spooky Buddies (2011)
Who can say no to puppies saving the world while also wearing adorable Halloween costumes? The fifth installment of the Air Buddies franchise follows the Buddies on a quest to stop Warwick the Warlock from unleashing the no-good hound ghosts in their town.
Mr. Boogedy (1986)
This old Disney flick doesn't get the credit it deserves for its spooky, bizarre (and at times, hilarious) script. Now that it's on Disney+, however, the film has recently become a cult favorite. When Carlton Davis (Richard Masur) and his family move into a new home, they soon find out that the house is haunted by the ghostly Mr. Boogedy (Howard Witt).
The Scream Team (2002)
Ian and Claire (Mark Rendall and Kat Dennings) are two siblings who discover a town in New England that's filled with ghosts. Before they can enter heaven though, the ghosts must first redeem themselves. They must all work together and stop an evil ghost from stealing souls.
Mom's Got a Date With a Vampire (2000)
Adam and Chelsea (Matthew O’Leary and Laura Vandervoort) have major plans for the night, but their mom (Caroline Rhea) grounded them.
