The Best-Dressed Celebrities This Week Stepped Out in Various Shades of White
We're talking off-white, egg-shell white, beige, crisp white and everything in between.
With some jaw-dropping looks coming out of the 2019 Cannes Film Festival this week, it was difficult to pay attention to much else happening on the red carpets and beyond. Never fear — we've had our eyes out for the celebrities making waves outside of France, and it seems that many have come to the consensus that any shade of white is a good way to stand out from the crowd.
It makes sense: With Labor Day still some months away and summer quickly approaching, white is about to return in full-force for that breezy, OOO-message-turned-on-because-I'm-on-vacation look. Though these stars are still on the clock, they've managed to perfectly encapsulate that vibe. Take Oprah Winfrey, who appears wonderfully relaxed in her all-white, airy custom Adeam ensemble, or Karrueche Tran, who looks easygoing and tan in her beige PH5 dress.
While monochromatic white can provide that fresh-off-the-beach glow, other celebrities displayed the shade's versatility by taking it in a more formal direction. Jessica Alba, for instance, paired her pretty half-up-half-down hairstyle with a white blazer and pair of slacks, both of which were from Dior. Elsewhere, Francia Raisa wore a white Jovani tuxedo dress that she accentuated with a shimmering silver necklace.
Other stars opted out of the all-white trend altogether (not all of us are good at ensuring we don't stain our outfits, okay?) and leaned into bright colors and bedazzled materials, like Marsai Martin in a colorful Georges Chakra Fall 2019 dress and Naomi Scott in a bright red custom Armani Privé dress. Gabrielle Union and Diana Silvers went for more muted colors on the other hand, in Cong Ti and Miu Miu gowns, respectively.
