This Weber model topped the charts in every test we put it through, as it produced perfect sear marks on burgers, cooked chicken impressively well and roasted some incredible veggies. It fits around 18 burgers (!) and can reach a sizzling 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Its aesthetic design is sleek and it also includes a side-mounted propane tank with a gas meter, plus sturdy side tables and grill grates that fit together perfectly.

Get dad into full cookout mode by presenting him with the iconic Weber Original Kettle Grill, a.k.a. one of the best charcoal grills we've ever tested. We were fans of its unique bottom vent, which helps to control airflow inside the grill and allows you to scrape coals into the bucket below. It's got a hinged wire grate for easy access to the coal bed and we loved that the lid had a hook for storage on the side of the grill. While most retailers are listing for well over list price, Amazon has it in stock for $165.

When it comes to gas grills, the sky is essentially the limit when it comes to how much you want to spend. For a well-built option that won't break the bank, we recommend this Dyna-Glo 4-Burner grill, which is on sale at Home Depot for $179, down $41 from $220. It was a solid performer when we tested the best gas grills, as we appreciated its sturdy build, which eclipsed other models in its price range, and how smoothly and tightly the lid closed. Although we found this grill a bit noisy and weren't pleased with the hotspot in the back corner, all-in-all, it's still an unbeatable pick for the price.

We were wowed from the very beginning by the OXO Good Grips 16” Grilling Turner in testing. From its lightweight feel to its sharp top edge, we dubbed this spatula as our top choice because it helped quickly separate burgers while its long handle kept our hands far away from the flame. It worked for pizza, too, allowing our testers to flip dough with ease. It’s versatile, comfortable and safe, and right now, it’s on sale—when you order via Groupon, you can snag the OXO Good Grips 2-Piece Grilling Set, which includes both the spatula and tongs—the best grill tongs we've tried—for $18.99.

A must-have for all grill dads.

For the dad who loves to smoke his meats, you can't go wrong with a gift of the Thermapen MK4, one of our favorite meat thermometer brands, Thermoworks. With a perfect 5-star rating, customers swear by this device for monitoring the temperature of meats in just two to three seconds. It was also the most accurate meat thermometer we tested with an auto backlight and a display that rotates by 360 degrees. For a limited time, it's 15% off.

6. Save $49: This Cuisinart model with top-notch add-ons

An aesthetically pleasing design with impressive add-ons to boot.

Although we experienced some difficulties with the Cuisinart GAS9556AS—namely the uneven cook we experienced with our burgers—we still included it in our roundup of the best gas grills because of its quality add-on features, like its stainless-steel smoke tube and heavy-duty cast iron griddle. Though we didn't find its typical price point of $396 to be worthy of its performance, you can currently snag it for nearly $50 off at Walmart. It features an insulated lid and firebox that helps with temperature control and a convenient flip-up warming rack for grilling large cuts of meat. Cuisinart’s customer service also quickly helped us replace a few warped pieces that came with our original shipment, and we found that they performed well after a second try.

7. Save $20: This portable grill for camping and tailgates

If dad would love a trusty, lightweight grill to bring on all of life's great adventures, look no further than the Cuisinart Petit Gourmet. Though it was recently bested by the Weber Q 1200, this model was our previous winner in our roundup of the best portable grills. We still find it a fantastic option for its small, easily-transportable build, which folds up when you need to carry it and has legs that pop out come grilling time. While meats took a bit longer to cook on its porcelain-enameled grate, they were tasty nonetheless. Normally $139.99, right now, you can save $20 on this compact grill to snag it for just $119.99 at BBQGuys.

A reliable model for on-the-go grilling.

If you’re looking for an on-the-go grill that checks off all of the necessary boxes, the Coleman RoadTrip 285 is the way to go. When we tested it out, we loved its design—particularly since it was easy to transport. Its grill proved plenty sturdy while the pull-out side tables were a nice added bonus. It also features an eight burger capacity, which is fairly impressive when you consider that it matches the average scale of a full-size grill. Although we experienced some uneven heating from the griddle, overall, it performed decently well in our tests, and we were generally happy with what it had to offer. Right now, you can pick this baby up at Dick’s Sporting Goods for $249.99, down $20 from $269.99.

When you're grilling, you can't forget the basics, starting with our favorite charcoal ever made: the Royal Oak Hardwood Lump Charcoal. We chose it as our favorite brand for several reasons, including the smell this charcoal produced, its wide availability and the distribution of the lump sizes. While it usually costs upwards of $20 for a 15.4-pound bag, right now, you can snatch up this all-natural charcoal at Blain's Farm & Fleet for just $9.99, saving yourself $10 in the process.
