Voting is open for the Athlete of the Week.

The Athlete of the Week voting occurs each week during high school sports competition and recognizes athletes across all sports.

Athletes were nominated over the past few weeks for the vote starting Monday, Feb. 20.

Athletes are on this week's ballot based on information made available to The Dispatch, and nominations made over the past week.

High school sports: 2022-23 Athletes of the week

Once athletes win during the regular season, they're not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. If athletes haven't won in the regular season, they can be nominated more than once.

Here are this week's Athlete of the Week candidates

Ceylone Brooks, Upper Arlington basketball: Made four 3-pointers and finished with 23 points in a 40-32 win over Dublin Jerome in the second round of the district tournament.

Emily Brown, Dublin Coffman swimming: Set meet records in the 200 free (1:48.12) and 500 free (4:47.43) at the Division I district meet. She is two-time defending state champion in both events.

Peyton Frey, Hilliard Davidson basketball: Had 28 points, nine rebounds and three assists in a 65-55 win over Independence and 17 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block in a 48-39 win over Upper Arlington.

Cameron Pettit, Wellington swimming: Set a Division II district meet record of 4:35 in the 500 free, edging his own mark of 4:37.1 set a year ago. He also finished second in the 200 IM and will compete at state.

Abbie Riddle, Liberty Union basketball: Had 39 points, 26 rebounds and 19 assists in two Division III district tournament wins. She had 17 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 60-41 win over Tree of Life.

Hudson Williams, Olentangy Liberty swimming: Set meet records in both the 50 free (19.59) and 100 free (43.79) during the Division I district meet.
