Best Lenovo Laptop Deals for Black Friday and Cyber Monday

We now know which laptops, Chromebooks, and accessories Lenovo will have on sale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The company’s ad was leaked on Tuesday and features dozens of computer models, including a Chromebook available for as little as $200. The list includes laptops like the Yoga, a 2-in-1 convertible that effectively doubles as a tablet, and the ThinkPad, a higher-end model that's perhaps best known for its comfortable keyboard. Both options score high in our tests.
Lenovo also has other items on sale this Black Friday, including accessories like mice, keyboards, and headphones.
Like other retailers, Lenovo will stagger the start time of the deals. While most will go into effect on Black Friday (Nov. 29), some won't be available until Cyber Monday (Dec. 2).

What follows is a curated list of the laptops we think will best serve consumers, organized by starting time. These are models that have either performed well in our ratings or closely resemble models that have done well in our ratings. And, of course, they’re available for a good price.
Black Friday (Nov. 29)
8 a.m. EST
Lenovo Chromebook C330, $200
This 11.6-inch Chromebook usually sells for around $280. It uses Chrome OS, Google’s lightweight operating system, which is sufficient for basic computer use like browsing the web, watching streaming videos, and doing homework. And because the model is a 2-in-1 convertible, you can bend the keyboard around to use the device like a tablet, which is handy because Chrome OS is compatible with Android apps. This model did well in our labs, with testers praising the bright and accurate touch-screen display and the 10 hours of battery life during our web-browsing test. It’s not the fastest laptop in our ratings, but it's in the ballpark with other Chromebooks we’ve tested.

Lenovo Legion Y740, $1,280
This is a higher-end 17-inch gaming laptop that’s usually available for close to $2,000. Gaming laptops offer powerful specs in order to handle today’s demanding video games, but they're also useful if you plan to do heavy-duty tasks like editing high-resolution video. This particular model, which scored well in our tests, has an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory, a 512GB solid-state drive, a 1 terabyte traditional hard disk drive—we explain the difference between the two here—and a dedicated Nvidia graphics card. The only drawbacks this laptop presents are the so-so battery life, at a little more than 4 hours, and the somewhat heavy weight, at nearly 3 pounds.

Lenovo ThinkPad L390, $700
This is a 13.3-inch 2-in-1 convertible that usually goes for more than $1,500. (For another $25, Lenovo will also include an optional dock, which makes it a little easier to connect the laptop to an external monitor). The model has an Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, and a 256GB SSD. Those are good, mainstream specs that should handle just about anything except the most demanding tasks, like regularly editing high-res video or trying to play video games at high settings. We didn’t test this exact model, but a very similar model, the L380 did well in our labs.
3 p.m. EST
Lenovo IdeaPad S145, $240
This is a 15.6-inch traditional notebook—that is, it’s not a 2-in-1—that’s usually available for closer to $340. It has an AMD A4 processor, 4GB of memory, and 128GB of solid-state storage. The model is a little less powerful than other non-Chromebook laptops featured in this roundup (hence the low price), but it should still be sufficient for things like browsing the web, watching video on sites like YouTube, and doing light productivity work in apps like Word and Google Docs. We tested a similar model but that one had an Intel processor, making direct comparisons somewhat difficult. But we expect it to compare favorably with other laptops in this price range.

Lenovo Flex 6, $580
This is a 14-inch 2-in-1 convertible (hence the name “Flex”) that usually goes for closer to $900. It’s a good midrange laptop, with an Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of memory, and 256GB of solid-state storage. As long as you don't plan to routinely edit high-res video or play high-end video games, you should be okay with this laptop. Our testers had mostly nice things to say about it, giving it good marks on important metrics like battery life (12 hours) and display quality.
Cyber Monday (Dec. 2)

Lenovo Yoga 730, $700
This is a 15.6-inch 2-in-1 convertible that’s usually available for nearly $1,100. It’s a good higher-end laptop, with an Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of memory, and 512GB of solid-state storage. While 16GB of memory would have been welcome—it’s somewhat unusual to pair a Core i7 and a 512GB SSD with 8GB of memory—the model should still be able to handle just about every task you throw at it. And while a dedicated video card would have made this a truly high-end laptop, the model did well in our tests nonetheless, with good battery life (nearly 10 hours) and a bright, accurate display.
