Whether you love them or hate them, memes are a big part of our culture and the internet. Throughout the past couple of years, memes have slowly taken over and have even become bigger newsmakers than some of our favorite celebs. Some of them have started thanks to big cultural moments that have stuck with us longer than they should, while others seem to have come out of nowhere thanks to one person's crazy idea. Either way, memes are definitely here to stay and are one of the best ways to show us how the year is going so far.

Lets be honest here, cancelling plans for a little bit of self-care is totally okay and this meme gave Twitter users plenty of reasons why it was fine to skip out on whatever they had planned. Of course, some of these might not 100 percent apply to you, like the Legacies example below, but it's still good to know that it might be useful for someone out there.

No matter whether you're talking about planes, public transport, or even a restaurant, where you sit is actually more important than you think. Thankfully, Twitter user @gplatinum_ gave the public to answer the question with a Tweet that asked users to pick a seat on the NYC subway. The tweet ended up blowing up and inspired others to also ask the same question, but nothing was more divisive than the original. (The correct answer is 4)

Instagram filters have always been a huge deal for fans of the service. But they were absolutely taken to the next level when random filters started taking over and fans used them as random quizzes to figure out which of their favorite characters they were. One of the best moments of the new filter was when Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda, played the "Which Disney character are you?" quiz and got his character, the Genie, from Aladdin.
